Very Important: DAS changing over to Emails.

From this year on the Society is going to use emails as much as possible to contact members. Obviously members not having access to emails will continue to receive their information through the post, but it is very important to maximise our use of emails; not only does it enable us  to save considerably on postage, it also means that members can be contacted more efficiently and made aware of new developments, last minute changes or cancellations to organized events such as workshops, excursions etc.. I have expended a good deal of time on the construction of an email database, and am now anxious to keep it up to date. Most of my time was spent tracking down emails returned as undeliverable, largely because members had changed their emails without telling us, and putting members on the list who had got email addresses since the last membership list was constructed but had not told us about it. In an attempt to get this finally sorted out  members E-mail addresses may be posted on the website at a future date. If you don’t want your email address published on the website please inform John Berridge or Jim Dewar. Your assistance in this matter would save us a great deal of work.
