Dawn Brooks:"As a self-taught artist I continue dabbling with new media, and learning by trial and error. Since my first attempts in 2002 I have now sold many paintings and received commissions. I enjoy attempting to capture and reproduce the image of a beautiful scene, but most of all I delight in the challenge of catching a good resemblance in portraiture of either people or animals."

Jonathan Burns: "I am a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of art where I studied Fine Art / Sculpture. I had a bit of a difficult time at Art College, focusing on one thing at a time. I had too many reasons and directions to follow and found it difficult to leave certain ideas for a while in order to return to them at a later date. When spare time allows I have not really changed my practice that much. My work therefore covers many subject areas and media."

Elspeth Collier:"I work with a variety of media in a bold and lively way, choosing whatever I think will best capture the essence of my subject. I am particularly interested in portraying colour and light and my main

Tom Eunson: Tom was born in Leith, his first artistic interest was music from the age of seven. Later he became a brass and dance band musician with with no interest in painting, until convalescing after a long term illness he took to free lance cartooning to while away the boredom, with moderate success. This interest for the human condition possibly accounts for the subjects mainly used in his paintings.

Robert Graham: "In 2002 I took early retirement and discovered the appeal of watercolour painting. Evening & weekend tutorial classes helped me to improve my technique and encourage my love of painting. I have lived in Blairgowrie for 24 years and the local landscape around Perthshire and Angus figure in a great deal of my work."

Josephine Gillespie: has been painting for over ten years. She first took up her hobby under the tuition of Jean Martin and has not looked back since. She is presently studying Fine Art Development and Figure and Life Drawing Courses at Dundee College. Josephine paints mainly in watercolour and pastel but has recently explored acrylic and mixed media. She also enjoys sketching and can draw to a high standard. Lately she has been teaching herself portraiture and has discovered a knack for it. Although initially trained as a chemical engineer, she spends most of her time attending to her small sewing business where she does just about everything from alterations to wedding gowns. On top of all this, she is a mum and a maths tutor. Originally from the Philippines, she came to Fife, Scotland 18 years ago and has settled comfortably in Wormit with her husband and two teenage children Josephine is both a member of the Dundee Art Society and the Cupar Art Club.

Jo Grewar: "I have always had a huge interest in Art ever since I was a child. I loved art classes throughout my school years and after leaving I attended Dundee College of Commerce and gained a Scottish Diploma in Art & Design. However, on leaving I took a job in Retail Management and art seemed to take a back seat for a few years (20 in fact !!!).
These days in my spare time I enjoy painting modern art. I use acrylics and paint mostly contemporary designs. I have sold many paintings in the past few years and last summer I exhibited in Dundee and Tayport. As members of Dundee Art Society my mum & I plan to hold a joint exhibition there in summer 2007."

Elizabeth Drysdale Kay: Originally from Toronto, Canada I have returned to painting after many decades as a graphic artist and designer. After secondary school, I graduated from Toronto’s Central Tech in the early 1970s. Here I was fortunate enough to have studied under well know Canadian artists including Audrey Garwood and Doris McCarthy. The later had studied directly under Arthur Lismer of the ‘Group of Seven’ fame. This no doubt has had a great influence on my work as I try to establish my own painting style and experiment with the Scottish landscape and other subjects. VIEW PAINTINGS BY ELIZABETH

Angus MacDonald: "What started as a hobby has now developed into a full time occupation as an
artist in watercolour, acrylics and mixed media. Subject matter is wide ranging,
with special inspiration coming from the Scottish landscape and townscape. I
just love studying the play of light as the weather affects the scene before me,
the sun, the shadows, the mood."

I studied at evening classes in water colour at the Arbroath Angus College under the direction of Norma Maclean but I now have found that pastels give me more fun and satisfaction. Walter Watson: We moved over to St Andrews in 2006 when I retired from a medical science career in Glasgow. When I was working I didn’t make much time for painting but now I can’t stop. I have become fascinated by the big skies and the picturesque wee towns and villages along the Fife coast.
